The ninth-annual McDonogh Vocal Residency Concert on Saturday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. will feature performances by members of the Upper School Concert Choir, the Gospel Choir, and Senior Singers under the direction of Dr. Glen Thomas Rideout '03. Prior to the recital, Rideout will spend two days working with student vocalists in a master class.
The concert, the finale of the annual Vocal Residency, will feature solo performances by the master class participants, a solo repertoire by Rideout, and shared pieces with students. The concert in Tagart Chapel is free and open to the public.
Rideout is an accomplished singer (classical through gospel and everything in between) and a Doctor of Choral Conducting. He is also a music minister in eight faith traditions including African Methodist Episcopal and Unitarian Universalist. Using his pioneering collaborative worship method he has earned national recognition for his congregational and ensemble music programs.
