The Eighth Grade Closing Ceremony begins with the class processing down the hill to Childs Memorial Terrace. Remarks are traditionally given by the Head of McDonogh School, the Head of the Middle School, and two students, one who looks back at their Middle School years and one who looks toward the future. After the presentation of special awards and certificates of completion, the rising ninth graders celebrate with family and friends.
