At the end of the fall sports season and on the eve of the annual McDonogh vs. Gilman football game, the entire community gathers for the Spirit Parade and Pep Rally. The campus is awash in orange and black as the enthusiastic student body, faculty, staff, coaches, and friends march by class, team, or student club from Tagart Chapel to the Rollins-Luetkemeyer Athletic Center in a one-of-a-kind, double self-enveloping pattern where everyone is both an observer and a participant. The Pep Rally includes cheers, a step-squad performance, fight songs played by the Middle School Marching Band, and words of inspiration for the football team as they prepare to face their archrival.
