Like so many wonderful organizations, McDonogh is rallying to support our surrounding community and help the healthcare professionals who are bravely working to save lives during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the weekend, School Nurse Erica Seaman delivered masks from McDonogh's infirmary to St. Agnes Hospital. With the help of Serena Wheaton '22, McDonogh's Middle and Upper School science departments donated latex gloves and sanitizing wipes to the Greater Baltimore Medical Center. And under the supervision of faculty member Bill Marks, the 3D printers in the Fader Innovation Center are being used to produce parts for face shields that will be donated to local healthcare facilities.
Along with helping medical providers, McDonogh is joining Baltimore County Together's Pop-Up Market initiative as a pick-up site. With restaurants closed, suppliers are faced with an abundance of fresh produce, and grocery stores can only take so much. The Pop-Up Markets located throughout Baltimore County will offer fresh produce kits at reduced rates; financial assistance is also offered through the non-profit charitable response effort.
