The seven 2020 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees were finally celebrated during a ceremony on Friday, November 5 in the Klein Lyceum. The ceremony, which was held the evening before the 105th McDonogh vs. Gilman football game, was attended by the honorees as well as more than 70 guests including coaches, families, and friends.
The Hall of Fame recognizes those who have achieved an outstanding athletic record while at McDonogh and demonstrated the ideal values of a McDonogh athlete: dedication, perseverance, positive attitude, leadership and teamwork. It also recognizes coaches, athletic trainers, and administrators who inspired McDonogh’s athletes to embrace these values.
After welcoming remarks from Co-Athletic Director Mickey Deegan the inductees were each introduced by their former coach or one who spoke about their storied career at McDonogh and beyond. Before receiving a framed varsity letter in recognition of their accomplishments, the recipients reflected on their McDonogh experience and the impact of their coaches, teammates, and education.
Congratulations to the seven 2020 Athletic Hall of Fame inductees:
