Upper School students will stage the two-act comedy Sly Fox, television writer Larry Gelbart’s (M*A*S*H*) take on the 400-year-old Ben Jonson play Valpone, on November 5, 6, and 7 in the school’s Ceres M. Horn Theatre. Performances are Friday, November 5 at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 6 at 8 p.m., and Sunday, November 7 at 2 p.m.
Set in San Francisco in the 1890s, Gelbart’s comedy pits the scheming old miser Foxwell J. Sly against greedy opportunists seeking to inherit Sly’s fortune. The 16-member McDonogh cast treats the play as a living cartoon, according to director Bill Toscano.
Tickets will be $5 at the door if they are available. They have been selling briskly during student lunch periods. For ticket information, call 410-998-3541.
