A Holiday Concert and an Opportunity
Saturday's open rehearsal will feature the Concert Choir, the Freshmen Chorus, and the Senior Singers preparing the following repertoire: Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria with chamber orchestra, Benjamin Britten's A Ceremony of Carols for women's chorus and harp, and Vincent Persichetti's Song of Peace for men's chorus and piano. Throughout, director Philip Olsen will offer explanations about the rehearsal techniques and repertoire. Since this is not a formal concert, audience members may come and go as long as they are quiet.
Sunday's full concert will include additional performances by the Gospel Choir, the Women of Note, the Gentlemen Songsters, and Il Maestrillo.
Refreshments provided by McDonogh Patrons will be available in Elderkin Hall throughout Saturday's rehearsal. A reception in Elderkin will follow Sunday's concert.
