A total of 85 golfers enjoyed the 29th Annual McDonogh Golf Classic on October 4 - a perfect day - at the Country Club of Maryland in Towson. After a shotgun start by the head pro, Mike Healy, foursomes headed to the tees for the scramble game of fun. There were lots of laughs, great camaraderie, and pure sunshine.
A reception and dinner in the clubhouse rounded out a delightful day on the course. Congratulations to the winning foursome: Aaron Finkelstein ‘75, Bruce Finkelstein ‘73, Scott Finkelstein, and Rob Singleton ‘73. And no, this was not the foursome victorious in last year's event.
The Alumni Executive Council and the alumni office plan the golf classic; businesses, classes, alumni and other friends of the school sponsor the event. Jamie Blum Seward '92 headed up the golf outing committee and helped rally the golfers. She and fellow volunteers Barbara Reed Feeser '76 and Norris Price '57 made sure participants got their commemorative t-shirts, coolers, and the opportunity to buy some insurance for great scores--mulligans. Jack Mitchell '89 did a great job in running the putting contest.
We look forward to another great turnout next year and more great weather. Look for an announcement soon about date and location. Thanks again to all those individuals and groups who sponsored this year’s outing. Special thanks to Associate Director of Alumni Relations Carol Schmelz, event organizer.
