For parents of children between the ages of two and nine, mark Thursday, November 11 on your calendar. That's when Linda Halverson of the Gesell Institute of Human Development at Yale University will speak on "Child Development and School Success." Her talk, which is free, will begin at 7 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre. All are welcome.
Ms. Halverson will address the following topics: What is school readiness? What is overplacement? How can readiness be assessed? What are the behavioral characteristics of 2- to 9- year-olds? What are developmentally appropriate teaching and parenting practices for this age group? >
