Curtain Call for Second Graders
The plot follows a group of friends called the Eco-Detectives, whose mission is to
help the environment. When a heard of endangered species escapes from the zoo,
only a person named Darwin is able to help the Detectives save them from the clutches
of the Bad Guys. As with previous plays, Lewis used the plot to communicate ideals of
justice and courage to her students.
After being performed twice for the Lower School, the play was shown to parents in
the Horn Theatre on the evening Friday, June 7. With frogs, camels, snakes, ants, and
elephants teeming on the stage, the performance was a wild success.
