Dine With Dad
Special guests accompanied lower schoolers in the lunch line, at the salad bar, and at their dining hall tables on Friday, February 1. More than 200 fathers dropped everything to dine with their sons and daughters. With children on their laps, sharing their chicken sandwiches, and enjoying their presence, the dads delighted in the youthful company.
Once a month, parents—usually moms—volunteer to eat with the lower schoolers to give the teachers a “free lunch.” Volunteer organizer Jon Sevel asked dads to take this duty, instead. And they did, making lunch a little more crowded but a lot of fun.
