Five Senior Girls Commit to Division I Lacrosse Programs
C.J. committed to the University of North Carolina, Jessy M. and Erin N. to the University of Virginia, Megan R. to the University of Richmond, and Lee T. to James Madison University. This is the first time in recent history that five players were recruited from the girls' lacrosse team in the same year.
During a brief ceremony in their honor, Coach B. commended the girls for their stength of character, specifically their leadership, heart, perseverance, intensity, and motivation. "You can have the skill in the world," she told them, "but you are not complete without the strength of character."
Then she shared a favorite quote from boxer Muhammad Ali: "Champions are not made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside of them-a desire, a dream, and a vision. They have last minute stamina, they have to be a little faster, they have to have skill, and the will. But the will must be stronger than the skill!"
