Girls Pool Their Talents to Defeat Champs

Early in the winter season, Director of Aquatics Scott Ward suspected that the girls' swim team had the talent and depth to defeat perennial champ Notre Dame Prep. On Friday, January 11, the girls proved him right, winning 10 of 11 events. Read about it in the Baltimore Sun.

Six new school records were set, in the 200 medley relay, 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly, 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, and 100 breaststroke. Among those record-setters, four swimmers qualified as automatic All Americans: Anne Marie B. '06 in the 100 back ( 57.43), Kelly P. '06 in the 100 breaststroke ( 1:05.36), and Anne-Marie, Kelly, Liz W. '03, and Danielle S. '04 in the 200 medley relay.
