Known worldwide, the acclaimed 18-member group is one of today's few touring big bands. The Airmen have recorded and performed with such jazz greats as Joe Williams, Sara Vaughan, and Cleo Lane.
As part of their educational outreach, band members will also will give a clinic for McDonogh musicians while they're on campus. McDonogh's jazz band director, Don New, was a member of the Airmen of Note for 21 years before joining the faculty in 2000.
