Give Blood on April 15
Did you Know:
1. Every 2 seconds, someone in our region receives blood.
2. Approximately 95% of the population will need blood during their lifetime, but less than 5% of the population donates.
3. A single shock trauma victim can use 100 units of blood in a few hours.
Legislation recently was passed in the state of Maryland which allows 16-year-olds to donate blood with parental consent. This legislation was initiated by a student from Beth Tfiloh. If any 16-year-old wishes to donate, he or she can stop in Joyce Wood's office (next to Mr. Commons' office) and pick up a parental consent packet.
