Musicians endured a rigorous audition process that included performance as well as sight-reading components. “We prepared a lot for the All-State auditions. . . I thought for sure that I wouldn't make it, just because . . . there are so many talented singers who audition,” reports Paige M. ‘05.

All received professional-level concert repertoire to learn two weeks before the All-State Weekend, February 21-23, when long rehearsals and training with renowned conductors was to culminate in a concert at the Baltimore Convention Center. It is an intense experience, students report, but definitely worth the hours of grueling rehearsals. Says Glen R.: “I'm always excited to spend a weekend with hundreds of people who love to make music.”
