If you didn’t make it to a varsity boys’ basketball game this winter, then you missed something special. This year’s team, arguably one of the best in school history, had amassed a 22-4 record going into the snow-delayed league tournament. Led by SUNY Stony Brook-bound senior Mike P. and classmate Alex W., the team captured mid-season titles at the prestigious Mercer Invitational tournament at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania and the York Special Olympics Holiday Tournament in York, Pennsylvania.Varsity boys finished their season by going 25-5. The Eagles lost to Spalding in the MIAA Semi-finals. Mike P. was named an ALL Tournament team player.
Cheers

Minutes before the cheerleaders were to perform, the squad’s lead gymnast, Kat R. ’05, broke her nose in the final practice. They regrouped in a hurry. “It was a great day full of emotions,” said longtime cheerleader Carrie F. ’03. “Our motivation was to work as a team and do our best for our teammate who could not be with us.”
Hoop Hopes
After honoring its three seniors, Liz E., Camrell G., and Jessy M., during the last league home game, the varsity girls’ basketball team beat Bryn Mawr for the second time this season. The Eagles (13-10) finished their season with a 14-11 record and loss in the second round of the IAAM tournament to St. Frances Academy!

Pooled Talents
After beating all opponents, including perennial rival NDP, the girls’ swim team claimed its second straight league dual-meet title. All the pieces were in place, then, for a dramatic showing at the January 26 IAAM championships at UMBC. And dramatic is just what it was! The Eagle swimmers won ten of eleven events, including the final freestyle relay, to tie NDP and share their first-ever championship.
Oh Brother
