I Name You "Crashing Buffalo!"

Mr. Fishback's table of artifacts and objects was very popular. "Name a part of the body and I'll tell you what the Native Americans used it for." One child's response of a funny bone brought the answer of "bone knife." The children liked being able to pick up and examine the musical instruments and utensils made of bone, wood and gourds and everyone was impressed with Mr. Fishback's ability to produce smoke with a bow-drill.

First Grade teacher Regina Karwacki is thrilled at the "hands-on" experience the children received. "They actually get to see how a turtle shell can become a bowl and feel a buffalo skin."
