Kindergarten Bears Return to their Den
"There's always a silver lining to every cloud," muses kindergarten teacher Donna Ward. The clouds in this case were those that produced the heavy rains on February 22 and 23, damaging carpeting and walls in the kindergarten's Dudley Hall and destroying children’s books, handmade materials, teachers’ guides, toys, and more.
The list of repairs to Dudley Hall includes new sheetrock and paint, new tile in the bathroom, and new carpeting. Mrs. Ward notes that the speed in which all of this was accomplished was incredible. "Our maintenance and housekeeping crews worked so hard. Not only was the construction completed in record time, the housekeeping folks did a fantastic cleaning job."
"As much as we were disappointed by the flood's destruction, we are thrilled to return to an even newer, fresher classroom." Mrs. Ward smiles. "All of the bears were ecstatic to return to their dens."
