Mrs. Lidston's 2001 Reading Challenge

She's jumped into a lake, kissed a frog, eaten her hat, gotten taped to a wall, and spent a whole day on the dining hall roof, all to reward her students for reading. What's Lower School Head Noreen Lidston going to do if her students read a combined 2,500 books this summer? She's going to milk a cow in front of everybody.

Yes, this is Mrs. Lidston's annual reading challenge. "I'll do almost anything to get children to read," she says. All the students have to do is hand in lists of the books they've read since school closed on June 4. As Mrs. Lidston's been telling them all summer, "Get moo-ving!"

Will they do it? Will Mrs. Lidston "milk this one for all it's worth?" Stay tuned.
