National Journal Publishes Article by M.S. Technology Coordinator Tom Adams
When it comes to training teachers to use technology, Tom Adams believes that the medium also can be the message. In "Visit to a virtual training program," the technology coordinator explains how he uses the electronic course management system Blackboard to help McDonogh teachers employ Web resources in daily lessons.
Says Adams, "This not only gets my point across effectively but also models high-tech teaching methods to teachers." Blackboard and the Web are now widely used in McDonogh's Middle School classrooms.
The Journal of Staff Development is published quarterly by the National Staff Development Council, a professional organization dedicated to promoting school improvement through staff development. It provides concrete examples of techniques that really work for teachers.
