Second-Graders Build Native American Villages
Second-graders built sprawling, realistic Native American villages, which were recently displayed in the Elderkin Hall lobby. Explains second-grade teacher Nancy Lewis, "These villages reflect information that the children have learned through our research into the culture and traditions of the Erie, Susquehannock, Powhatan, and Lenni Lenape tribes. The Native American curriculum is an ongoing discussion as we study Maryland history in contemporary life."
