Middle Schoolers Have Good News Tonight!
Tait College faces its arch rival Colton for the conference championship, but Tait’s star halfback, Tom Marlowe, is flunking astronomy. If he does not pass the big test the day before the big game, he cannot play and Tait faces certain defeat. Tom’s socialite fiance, Pat Bingham, recruits Connie Lane to tutor Tom. What follows is a zany mixture of football, romance, and comedy featuring musical favorites such as Button Up Your Overcoat, You’re the Cream in My Coffee, The Best Things in Life Are Free, and Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries.
English and drama teacher Jon Aaron '72 directs this revival, as he did the 1989 show by the Class of '93. Though the site of the original performance, Edwards Gym, is no longer standing, students will sing and dance in its footprint, in the grand Ceres M. Horn Theatre.
