A Championship Weekend
The track, girls lacrosse, and boys golf teams will compete for championships this weekend. All are invited to support these teams.
Boys and girls track championships will take place at Saturday, May 16 at Calvert Hall. Field events will start at 9:30 a.m., the field awards ceremony at 11:30, opening ceremony at 12:15 p.m., and track awards at 3:40 p.m. Admission is $6.
The Maryland Independent Schools A conference golf championship between McDonogh and Gilman will be held Saturday at Caves Valley Golf Club. The teams start with a 1:05 p.m. tee time. There is no admission charge, but appropriate dress is required: collared, polo shirts, Bermuda shorts, or slacks. No jeans. Spectators must walk.
The girls varsity lacrosse team will play Notre Dame Prep for the Independent Athletic Association of Maryland A conference title at 3 p.m. at Gerstell Academy, 2500 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg. Admission is $5, and there is no charge for children under 7. Drivers are cautioned when leaving Gerstell. Westminster Pike (Rt. 140) is a busy, four-lane thoroughfare, and there is no traffic signal at the Gerstell entrance.
