Nine in Nike Meet Become Track All-Americans
Nine from McDonogh became All-Americans in the Nike Indoor National Track Meet in Boston, March 13-15, by placing sixth or better in their respective events.
In the 4 X 200, Jordyn G. '10, Amanda K. '09, Jessica C. '12, and Jasmine R. '11 finished with a time of 1:43.10, good for 6th place.
In the 4 X 55 high hurdles, Jessica C., Victoria G. '10, Autumne F. '12, and Kristen B. '10 took 4th place with a time of 35.43.
Justin G. '11, competing in the pentathlon, amassed 3,768 points for 3rd place. In the long jump, Justin finished 6th, 22' 03".
Moriah Y. '09 threw the shot put 40' 11.5", for 6th place, while Kristen B. took 6th in the 60 high hurdles, 8.70.
Said coach Jeff Sanborn, "While there may have been schools with better showings, it's hard to believe very many had a van full of All-Americans." A total of 2,200 high school athletes from 42 states competed.
