Tickets on Sale for MS Idol

Who will it be? Excitement is building for the Middle School Idol finale on Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre.

The star-studded event will begin with performances by the top ten contestants. After a brief intermission, the judges (professional actors and singers) will select two finalists to sing a solo of "Ain't no Mountain High Enough" with the Honors Choir as back-up.

The audition process started in September with more than 50 student singers from the Middle School. In true "Idol" fashion, there will be video footage of the audition process throughout the finale, and members of the audience will cast the final votes to determine the winner. The 2009 MS Idol will receive an I-tunes gift card, three voice-coaching sessions, and a recording of their song.

Tickets are also on sale for the semi-finals on Thursday, December 3 at 4:30 p.m., when the top twenty contestants will vie for a spot in the finale. The semi-finals will also take place in the Ceres M. Horn Theatre.

E-mail ticket requests (including name and number of tickets) to McDonogh Middle School Choir Director Suzanne Eldridge at seldridge@mcdonogh .org. Semi-finals tickets are $2 per person in advance or $5 at the door. Tickets for the finale are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Combo tickets for both nights can be purchased in advance for $12.

Proceeds from ticket sales will help fund the Middle School Honors Choir trip to Florida in February. The talented group will be performing and participating in workshops at Walt Disney World.
