The Gospel Choir presents their 12th annual spring concert in Tagart Memorial Chapel on Sunday, March 28 at 6:00 p.m. Under the direction of Kaisha Askins Blackstone '98, the Gospel Choir will perform for two hours, with a reception to follow in the Elderkin Hall lobby.
The McDonogh Gospel Choir was founded in 1995 by math teacher, Keisha Ashton as an Upper School extra curricular activity.
In 1998, Headmaster Bo Dixon invited Kaisha Blackstone '98 back to McDonogh to lead the Gospel Choir with the students. Still an extra curricular activity, the students use time after school and in the evenings to gather and rehearse. In 1999, the Gospel Choir had its first spring concert, which has become an annual tradition.
Over the years, the choir has embraced students, faculty and staff of all races, denominations and ages to form a sound unique to McDonogh and a concert experience like none other.
Don't miss this amazing musical event!
