Headmaster's Message to Families
Dear Parents and Students,
When you look across the McDonogh campus today, all you see are vast expanses of white punctuated by huge mounds of snow. The roads had been clear, but once again it is getting harder and harder to tell where a snowbank ends and a road begins.
Given the current weather, the volume of missed classes, performances, events, field trips, practices, and games will continue to mount. Some are being rescheduled now; others will have to wait until we return to school. Please check the Web site for updates and closing announcements.
In the meantime, middle and upper schoolers, watch your e-mail for communications from teachers and coaches. Parents of lower schoolers, please encourage your children to read during this unexpected break. To all our teachers and students who are pushing ahead with assignments and lessons: Thank you for trying to stay caught up when there are many distractions around you.
If there is an upside to this series of epic snow events, it is that we are forced to slow down. Families can enjoy time together, with no one having to rush off to a practice or meeting. That's all good. At the same time, the Internet allows us to stay as connected with the outside world as we choose to be.
In closing, please stay safe and warm. It will be wonderful when we're all back together again.
