A Clearing in Doyles Woods

Bulldozers and fallen trees around Doyles Woods House indicate the beginnings of Phase I of the Campus Master Plan. Workers are currently clearing trees around the site to prepare for the demolition of the dormitory-style building, which served as home to many campus workers over the years.

Located alongside Woods Road across from the soccer field, the house was built in 1960 in order to house school staff. One of the first residents was Hosset Ellesby, who worked as a custodian and handyman for the infirmary until his retirement in 1973.

Doyles Woods House will be replaced by a storm water management pond, and parking lots will take the place of the two neighboring houses and Field #7 behind the R-L Center. Once these site changes are completed, further campus improvements can be made.
