During spring break, twelve Middle School French students led by Ms. Offut and Mr. Thomas traveled north to explore the language and culture of French Canada. Students had the opportunity to trek through the snowy woods of Quebec and visit the Parliament building in Quebec City. Also, while in Quebec, the students saw the Montmorency Falls, which are 100 feet higher than Niagara Falls.
In the second half of the trip, the students traveled to a Cabane à Sucre where the Quebecois harvest maple syrup each spring. Finally, the group made it to the bilingual city of Montreal. From the Olympic Stadium to Vieux Montreal and to the Underground City, the students experienced a city not only rich in culture and history but a modern economic and industrial power.
