Senior Rider Wins ASPCA Maclay National Championship Title
On November 4, 2012, Jacob P. ’13 won the ASPCA Maclay Finals in Lexington, Kentucky. At the same event, the McDonogh senior was also awarded the Iris McNeil Trophy. The trophy is given to the junior rider who demonstrates a strong work ethic and most importantly, a deep regard for all horses. The recipient must “show an outstanding sense of sportsmanship, horsemanship, fairness, compassion and respect for their horse and their peers.” Additionally, the honoree must demonstrate leadership and dedication to the future of equestrian sport.
