Debate Team Excels
McDonogh’s varsity debate team, coached by Upper School
history teacher Daryl Burch, successfully competed in the
Baltimore Catholic Forensic League (BCFL) Debate at
Marriottsville Ridge High School on February 9. Sophomore
Alyssa R. was named Top Speaker at the event. Alyssa and her
partner, Ryan E. '15, went undefeated and are the #1 seeded
team for the State Qualifying Tournament that will take place
at Mt. St. Joseph High School on March 16. Sahil S. ’15 and
Viraj P.‘14 also qualified for the state tournament.
Winners at the state level will advance to the National
Championships which will be held at the end of May in
Philadelphia. Go Eagles!
