Girls Win Basketball Championship
Congratulations to the varsity girls’ basketball team who captured the 2014 IAAM “A” Conference Championship on Monday, February 17 after beating a very tough Roland Park Country School. According to Athletic Director Mickey Deegan, “The Eagles had a slow start out of the gate, but rallied back in the second quarter, to only be behind by a few points at the half way mark. The time half pep talk (must have worked) and the girls came out more focused and determined to ‘play their game’....and they did just that.”
Clutch foul shots in the 4th quarter and good defense stymied the Reds in the final three minutes of the game. The final score was 57-46, ending a season of undefeated league play.
