The McDonogh Athletic Leadership Academy celebrated the end of its inaugural year with a ceremony on Monday, April 17 in the 1873 Room. Of the 37 student-athlete graduates, 15 were recognized for going beyond the course requirements and completing the 2022-2023 leadership program with honors.
The program included comments from four alumni Josh Fitch ‘09 (wrestling), Anne-Marie Botek ‘06 (swimming), Travis Holmes ‘03 (football, wrestling, lacrosse), and Brileigh Pinkney ‘08 (swimming) who shared their stories of commitment, challenges, and successes and how McDonogh prepared them for college and life. Four student leaders, Ashton Kendall '24, Kobe Keomany '24, Madison Rose '25, and Zewdi Tesfayohannes '25, also spoke about the four C's in Leadership: commitment, confidence, composure, and character. Program Director Scott Ward thanked Dr. Susan Cummings and Dr. Kris Jenner, parents of three McDonogh alums, for their support of the program.
