Upper School - Library Resources - McDonogh School

Upper School

A gift from the Kiplinger family, the current Upper School Library was first dedicated on May 8, 1990. The library was rededicated on the same day 25 years later, May 8, 2015, in loving memory of Todd L. Kiplinger '64, McDonogh Trustee (1981-1989). See About the Kiplinger Library for additional information.

The Upper School Library is a safe, welcoming, and comfortable environment for students and faculty. Librarians collaborate with faculty to teach students to responsibly navigate stores of information while instilling critical tools for them to discern the validity and usefulness of information they encounter. The Upper School research and information literacy curriculum builds upon knowledge learned in earlier years and provides students with valuable life-ready skills. McDonogh librarians are guided by the AASL Standards Framework for Learners established by the American Association of School Librarians (AASL).
