Alumni Reception in New York City
With Jessica Jarvis ’97, Jenni Lapovsky ’97 and sister Courtenay ’99 hosted a cocktail reception at their parents’ New York apartment near Central Park on March 30. The congenial crowd, composed mostly of 90s-era alumni, kept the conversation flowing comfortably. Joining the crowd from McDonogh were Headmaster Bo Dixon, George Gebelein '60, and Dave Farace '87.
Having known almost all of the alums in attendance, Dixon asked them some timely questions: How might he respond to a senior who does not get accepted to his/her first-choice college and is devastated? How much does college choice matter later on? A thoughtful discussion ensued, giving the guests an opportunity to reflect and provide some valuable perspectives for the headmaster to take back to campus.
