McDonogh alumni returned home to campus on December 12 for a delightful holiday luncheon in the lobby of the Clarence A. Burck Center for the Performing Arts. Guests enjoyed mingling, of course. They also appreciated hearing from new Headmaster Charlie Britton.
The headmaster defined McDonogh as a school of character and opportunity, using several slices of school life as examples. In one, Britton described the awe he felt as he watched poised student wrestlers express their sincere gratitude to legendary teacher-coach Ray Oliver '40. Then Britton shared his own gratitude to be leading a school of McDonogh's caliber.
The holiday gathering concluded with a festive flourish. Students in the a capella groups The Gentleman Songsters and The Women of Note serenaded guests with music of the season.
