An 80th Birthday Surprise for Marsh Anders
Private music teacher and pianist Marsh Anders, a 36-year member of McDonogh's faculty, was surprised on his 80th birthday November 20 with a keyboard-shaped cake and good wishes from students and colleagues.
Anders began his McDonogh career as a chapel organist "with no intention of teaching." The rest, as they say, is history. The former Lower School music teacher and director of the private music program is still a favorite accompanist at school events, weddings, and area benefits. He released a CD of standards and show tunes last year.
