Eighth Notes Perform New Orleans-Style Review

The Eighth Notes impressed two sold-out audiences with their New Orleans-style review in the Black Box Theatre on February 3 and 4. Under the direction of Suzi Eldridge, head of Middle School choral music, the students enjoyed performing side by side with faculty members to songs such as "Mack the Knife," The Best is Yet to Come," and "Puttin on the Ritz." The stage was magnificently set with a backdrop of the French Quarter painted by Theatre Manager Mel Bratz. The event raised more the $230 in donations for Katrina Relief.

Faculty members who performed with the eighth graders included: Don New, Upper School jazz band teacher; Lynn Offutt, head of Middle School foreign language; Steve Martel, head of Middle School social studies; Laura Garvin, Lower School music teacher; Marsh Anders, private music instructor; and Toni Stefano, private music instructor.
