Fourth Grade Punkin Chunkin Contest
On Thursday, November 2, fourth graders simulated the annual Punkin Chunkin World Championships held in Delaware with a lesson in aim, force and trajectory on Chapel Hill.
In the spirit of fun, students launched mini pumpkins at life-size posters of their beloved teachers. To add excitement to the outing, fourth grade teacher Wendy Reed wore a lacrosse helmet for protection and hung out with the targets.
After all of the pumpkins were launched, students ran down the hill in search of them. It was a great outdoor lesson on a beautiful fall day!
