Golf Classic is Close Contest

For 32 consecutive years, the McDonogh Golf Classic has been enjoyed by alumni, parents, friends, and faculty.

This year's outing took place on Monday, September 10 at The Country Club of Maryland and ended up being quite a contest.

The winning foursome--J.P. Grant, Ed Lazer, Steve Borden, and Steve McCauslind--shot a 58. Three other groups shot 59s, forcing the club to match cards to determine the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place winners.

Coming in second were Aaron '75, Bruce '73, and Scott Finkelstein and Rob Singleton '73. Third place went to Abe Adler, Art Adler '78, Mark Altemus, and John Ginsberg. The parent foursome of Jim Bannantine, Rick Fiorito, Pip Robins, and Randy Woods landed in fourth place.

Other notable awards went to Athletic Director Mickey Deegan (longest drive, women), Ken Frontaine (longest drive, men), and Mitchell Brown, Bill Rollins '00, and Tim Ryan (closest to the pin).

Thank you to Jack Mitchell '89 and Stephen Knable '99 for generously donating their 50/50 raffle winnings back to the Alumni Association.

Proceeds from the golf outing support the Alumni Association's endeavors in the McDonogh community. A sincere thanks to all sponsors, players, and volunteers who participated in this year's outing.
