McDonogh student, faculty, parent, and staff groups have signed up to provide holiday gifts and grocery gift certificates for 146 families in need this Christmas. The Holiday Project, now in its 15th year, serves families connected with St. Gregory the Great Church in downtown Baltimore.
"The school community's enthusiastic response to the Holiday Project will help ensure that many people experience the holiday time as something more than just another disappointment," writes Director of Religious Studies John Grega, organizer of the effort. "The Holiday Project is designed not to solve major social problems but to lift the burden many families experience at a time of year when many others experience bounty."
Gifts for children and food for the family are the focus of this effort. Sponsoring groups should have their wrapped gifts ready for collection on Monday, December 18.
