Along with history teacher Dave Harley, seven Upper School students accompanied yearlong exchange students Aya H. ’07 and Misa M. ’07 back home to Seijo, Japan.
Throughout their two-week trip, the students visited the Seijo Gakuen Senior High School where they spent their days helping students with their English or simply seeing the beautiful sights of Japan, which included the Japanese television station NHK, and the Shogunate’s House from the Edo period.
A two-day trip to Kyoto gave the students an opportunity to see eight Japanese temples including the Gold and Silver Temples. Also, they visited the Emperor’s Palace.
After a sixteen-hour flight, a time away from home, and learning about Japanese culture, an enthusiastic Zack S. ’08 commented, “I loved Japan so much that I’m going back next year!”
