Journey/Vision, a new exhibit featuring a photographic journal by Tammy Newcomer '03 and paintings by young artist Tim Dwyer, opens today in the Tuttle Gallery. All are welcome to attend the opening reception, Thursday, September 21 from 4 to 6 p.m. in the gallery and lobby.
Alumna Tammy Newcomer showcases compelling photographs from her recent environmental field study in Costa Rica and Nicaragua. Tammy is a senior environmental science major at UMBC. While at McDonogh, she emerged as a talented photographer.
Tim Dwyer displays computer-generated images that he describes as "concept landscapes." Dwyer, a 2003 fine arts graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, likes to express his ideas through a combination of illustration, video, animation, audio, and collage.
Journey/Vision will be featured in the gallery through October 27. Gallery hours are 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. on school days.
The Tuttle Gallery provides a forum for artists to show their work to both the Mcdonogh community and the public at large. Located on campus, it exposes McDonogh students to contemporary art and the chance to learn firsthand from the artists.
