Kindergartners Learning in Makeshift Classrooms
After spending countless hours salvaging and relocating materials, the kindergarten teachers have furnished their temporary classrooms with many of students’ favorite books, toys, and activity sets. At the same time, the art and music teachers whose classrooms the kindergartens now occupy have taken their lessons on the road, instructing throughout Elderkin Hall.
Several inches of water soaked the kindergarten rooms following heavy rains on February 22 and 23. Lost were children’s books, handmade materials, teachers’ guides, toys, and more. Carpeting and walls were also damaged. Repairs should be completed during spring break in mid-March.
