Making Snow Calls
From Headmaster Bo Dixon: "As I answer my 20th phone call, 'Why a two hour delay?,' I thought I ought to explain. First, 5:35 a.m. is an ungodly hour for any decision. This morning I did not think it could hurt to buy a little time in case the rush hour developed into a weather nightmare. As it turned out, we did not need the delay, and I apologize for any inconvenience. I try to bat a little over .500 in the snow-call game, but freely admit that at times I swing and miss."
What is the best way to know whether school is closed or delayed? Check the front page of the Web site and listen to local television and radio reports. Today's decision was announced on all of those.
