Now Playing: “Friends”
Students translated themes of their friendship unit into a film. They conceived, wrote, cast, and filmed scenes that showed where friends meet, things friends do, how friends get along, why friends don’t get along, and what it takes to sustain friendships. In the process, they learned how to use a digital video camera, a boom microphone, and computer editing tools. Some even played their instruments to provide background music.
With all their scenes now shot and recorded, the third-graders are editing their work. Their final product, an iMovie, will be saved in Quicktime and distributed on CDs to class members.
