Alumni can create an account in order to take advantage of McDonogh Connect or Pledgemail.
Six upper schoolers, along with Headmaster Charlie Britton, and teachers Sharon Howell, Janel Robinson, and George Webb attended the 20th annual National Association of Independent School's People of Color Conference and the 14th Student Diversity Leadership Conference in Boston, November 29 to December 1. The theme of this year's conference was "Reshaping Traditions." Howell, McDonogh's director of diversity says, "The days were long and intense, but it was an emotionally rewarding experience for the participants."
As stated on the NAIS Web site, the conference gives attendees "the opportunity to network and build connections with others who are committed to building and sustaining inclusive independent school communities for people of color.
This year's workshops focused on equity and justice, and participants were challenged to think in new ways. Among the presenters were two McDonogh graduates, Chris Nelson '04 and Terrell Winder '07.
A record number of 3, 388 people attended the conference this year.
