Success for Allan Debating Society
Additional speaker awards went to GM Bennett '04 (5th), Greg S. '04 (6th), Ashley F. '04 (16th), Jake Miller '03 (21st), and Corey Chow '04 (22nd). Greg and Gene went 3-0, finishing as first and second speakers in all three rounds. At 2-1 were Ashley and Jake in their first varsity tournament; Corey and GM; and senior captains Aaron S. and Luke S. With a perfect 9-0 record, Greg and Gene are among the top three teams in the league are expected to qualify for the 2003 state finals.
Allan Debating Society members compete in the policy debate event of BCFL tournaments. They present and refute arguments based on the following resolution set for all high school debaters by the National Catholic Forensic League: that the United States federal government should substantially increase public health services for mental health.
