Bo Dixon conceived the breakfast in the fall of 1992, his first year at McDonogh. "I thought it would be a good idea," he says, "to bring in the senior class and get to meet them and also to get to meet students I hadn't met while they were here." Attendance at the first breakfast was comparatively low, at "about fifty or sixty kids." In the following years however, the breakfast grew in popularity, to the point where it now attracts about one-hundred twenty to one-hundred thirty young alumni. "It's one of those things," Mr. Dixon says, "where the more you do it, the more people come to kind of depend on it."

This year's breakfast was no exception to the event's tradition of success. Even after Lamborn hall was closed at half-past noon, alums lingered in the parking lot, laughing and joking with each other despite the November cold. "It's fun to see people reunite," Mr. Dixon comments. "And it's a fun thing for us to do and an easy thing for us to do. So we'll keep doing it and hope that people appreciate it."
